The Current Reality
While some veterans pursue and acquire financial education and training, many unfortunately do not for various reasons tied to the immediate pressure and stress they face upon re-entering civilian life. In addition to struggling to deal with conditions such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or other mental conditions, many veterans also have physical wounds to recover from. They struggle often to readjust to civilian life. Financial concerns are high on the list of problems and anxieties on a daily basis.
In fact, numerous veterans as investigated by the Washington Post in mid 2015 have sold off pensions in order to pay their current recurring bills. This is a difficult situation that can be hard to escape from. Hence it becomes all the more imperative that veterans have access to sound financial advice and strong foundation in basic financial planning to protect themselves and their families.
At VFF, we aim to help veterans succeed by empowering them with tools, education and advice to make better, informed decisions.
